K-metronome FAQs
Q:
Where do I set or check my Windows Mobile touchscreen device Owner Information?
A:
Start > Settings > Personal > Owner Information
and look at the "Name:" field in the Identification section.
On some newer HTC devices, you have to do it another way:
On the bottom of the screen, slide all the way to the right
and select the settings icon (the gear.)
Select "All Settings" (bottom left) if it is there.  If not,
select "Menu" (bottom right) then select "All Settings"
You're now at the basic WM settings.  Now Select "Personal"
then select "Owner Information" if it is there.  If not, you may
need to re-enable this hidden icon by downloading the following directly to your device (and opening):
ftp://kook.com/kpsw/other/EnableOwnerInfo.CAB
Then soft reset your device.  The "Owner Information" icon will no longer be hidden.

Q:
Does K-metronome support 320x320 devices such as the Samsung i780?
A:
Yes.  K-metronome v1.9 supports Windows Mobile 6.x Classic/Professional 320x320 devices.

Q:
What is the latest release version of K-metronome?
A:
K-metronome (metronome & tuner for Pocket PC) version 1.9 has been released.
This new version supports all Windows Mobile 6 / 6.1 / 6.5 Classic/Professional, devices and all previous Pocket PC versions, and is compatible with Square, Landscape, and VGA resolution devices.
Use the Software link below to purchase/download a copy from CNET, Handango, or PocketGear.

Q:
I already purchased a copy, but the software wants me to enter a registration code.  What do I do?
A:
You should receive a registration code via e-mail.   If you have not received one within 24 hours of purchase, please e-mail us using the Company link below including your order number and an alternate e-mail address.
Also please make sure that your e-mail bulk/spam filtering does not block e-mail from KOOK.COM.

Q:
The device froze and I had to reset.  What is the cause?
A:
On some ROM versions of the HTC TyTN and HTC Hermes (AT&T 8525) devices there is a conflict with K-metronome v1.9 which causes a freeze.  We are still researching this problem, however K-metronome v1.8 works fine on these devices.  If you are experiencing this problem, please download and install version 1.8.  We will release a fix as soon as we can. We apologize for any inconvenience.  To download version 1.8:
If your device is internet connected, use this URL from Pocket Internet Explorer on the device:
ftp://kook.com/kpsw/older/KMet1.8.PPC_2k2.CAB
If you'd like an installer to run on a PC, use this URL:
http://kook.com/kpsw/dls/kmet1_8.zip

Q:
The tempo seems to be too slow.  What is the cause?
A:
The Light Emitting Diode (LED) on some devices, such as the Dell Axim x50/x51 series, is unable to be flashed fast enough.
Go to the K-metronome Options screen and select "Don't use" in the "LED (Light)" section.

Q:
Does K-metronome run on the Windows Phone 7 platform?
A:
No.  K-metronome only runs on the Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Windows Mobile 6 - 6.5 Classic/Professional platforms.
(Windows Phone 7 is not a revision of Windows Mobile 6, it is
a different platform designed for finger instead of stylus use.)
We have no plans at this time to make a Windows Phone 7 version of K-metronome, but if there is enough demand for it, that could change.
You may use the Company link below to e-mail a request to us.

Q:
Does K-metronome run on the Windows Mobile Smartphone
(or Windows Mobile 6 Standard) platform?
A:
No.  K-metronome only runs on the Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Windows Mobile 6 - 6.5 Classic/Professional platforms.
Note:  Some devices are called "smartphones" that are actually
Pocket PC Phone Edition (or WM6 Professional) devices, and K-metronome will run on them.
The easiest way to tell the difference is that Pocket PC/WM6 Classic/Prof. devices use a touch-screen and stylus, whereas Smartphone/WM6 Standard devices do not.
We have no plans at this time to make a Smartphone/WM6 Standard version of K-metronome.
